Let me tell you all about my three visits to the Thai Canadian Restaurant!

My very first visit! was when this restaurant first opened during the second half of 2018.
I had heard so so much great things about the restaurant so I obliged of course.

Got to the restaurant, it seemed a bit busy but we seated ourselves. The front staff had noticed us, and said 1 minute.

We ended up sitting for about 30-40 minutes without receiving any kind of service; it was a bit busy, with folks coming in picking up takeout orders and a few people seated as well.

But 30-40 mins was a bit of a reach, without even being offered the menu or beverages.
We ended up leaving, having personally been so excited to try out this restaurant's meals; I was left disappointed by the lack of customer service.

About 2 months later, I braved the restaurant again. Hoping that the rush and curiousity of the locals had calmed a bit.

We were seated promptly, I mean like whew chile!
We had drinks offered, and even the menus were given to us before we could even take sip of our drinks!
We ended up ordering the red curry with chicken dish, yellow curry with beef dish & thai spicy fried rice w/ the wings for appetizer!

The food was so redeeming! Spicy and delicious, left my taste buds rejoicing for MORE! I can say for one, I greatly appreciated the portion sizes & mixture of flavours. I was so amazed I had to visit again!

    And Today was that DAY!
The rush seemed to have died down a lot, we seated ourselves promptly, had beverages and our meals ordered within minutes.

Beef dry curry, fried kale & pork w/ veggies & Thai spicy fried rice with pork!

They definitely delivered! The food was spicy, delicious and just busting with flavour.
My only qualm was the portion sizes seem a little smaller than I remembered, but the food was too good to worry about it.

I plan to visit a few more times, taste more of the offerings.

Visit this restaurant if you fancy spicy food and just want to treat your tastebuds to something exotic and unique, you won't be disappointed!

I stopped by this bit of a hole-in-the-wall joint on a quick work trip. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly, and the food was delicious with great flavors. I usually get the coconut milk Tom kha ga soup at Thai restaurants but tried the wonton on a recommendation. It was delicious with fresh wontons and flavorful broth and vegetables. The spring/fresh rolls were also tasty.

Fabulous new Thai food place in Grande Prairie!   Great choice choices for lunch specials $12.55 each.  Had the red curry with chicken and partner had the Pad Thai with chicken.  Both excellent. Liked the salad with the light tasting dressing which is included in the lunch specials.

Comfortable and pleasant eating area.  New looking washrooms.  Wheelchair accessible.

If I could give this place 1 star I would.

Portions are ridiculously small.  I mean, $30 of food for one person will not fill you.  If you're a big guy?  $30 wouldn't even equate to an appetizer.

The coconut chicken soup - sounds good, in theory.  And the flavours aren't bad.  BUT - about half of my soup was mushrooms, and it didn't even list mushrooms as an ingredient on SkipTheDishes!!!  The tiny morsels of chicken they happened to put in were SO DRY they were almost impossible to eat.  The bamboo shoots (I think that's what they were?) were literally like chewing on a branch, and were completely inedible.

I don't know how this place had a decent SkipTheDishes score.  Unbelievable.  Exhausted from travelling and didn't want to leave the hotel, but I am literally still starving after that.  I was more satiated from a small scoop of hummus and five crackers today at lunch.

Chicken satay was four tiny slivers of chicken for $10.  I'm not exaggerating....SLIVERS of chicken.
